Contentswonders why Fewkes has not replied to his letter of 10/10/1896; wonders whether it might have gone lost; but does not understand why Prof. [Albert] Grünwedel received a mailing [from Fewkes] which must have been triggered by Warburg's letter to Fewkes; repeats his questions: Warburg was successful in interesting people from the Ethnographical Museum and from the Geographical Society in Berlin in the 'Pueblo question'; these societies want to know whether Fewkes will undertake another excavation for the Smithsonian Institution in Arizona or New Mexico in the summer of 1897; would it be possible to undertake excavations in the same area not just for the Smithsonian Institution but also for others?; where is Rev. [Henry R.] Voth?; Warburg has written two letters but received no reply; Warburg plans to give a lecture to the Amerikanistenclub in Berlin in January 1897 about the state of Pueblo research
