| Contents | thinks that Warburg is en route to Hamburg; thanks for letter; it was very thoughtful of Mrs. [Jessie] Hillebrand to present the books to the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz; he will thank her; the Brockhauses had a good time in Venice prior to their stay in Davos; talks of two Fortuna representations, one on Dogana, the other on a dish in the Museo Civico; he has not sent the letter, thanks him for Warburg's letter from Berlin, is pleased to read that the authorities in Berlin seem to be interested in the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz; he cannot give any figures how much money he needs for running the Institute, he will have to talk about it to the President Schmarsow; advises him to write to Schmarsow; the congress in Nuremberg in 1893 Max Georg Zimmermann estimated the annual running costs with Mark 15-20,000; there is no budget for publications as yet; they have to be careful not too ask too much from the German state; the individual German states have to contribute to the 'Verein'; 'the more is entrusted to us, the more we want to achieve'; Professor [Hermann] Lenhartz arrived in Davos to have a look at the Sanatorium; on page 3 PS dated 06/07/1898 |
