ContentsIt was a surprise to Brockhaus to read that Warburg had already had his Leonardo lectures; is sure that Warburg can be pleased with the success; it will be good for Warburg's plans for Kiel; is pleased that [Aby Warburg and Mary Warburg] are well; Brockhaus was successful in having been allowed to visit the castle in Milan; the rooms are great, the architecture stunning; he saw frescoes of angels on the ceiling in one wing of the castle, mentions Raphael, Leonardo; he was impressed by a lifesize statue of a naked man; advises him to go to Milan and see the statue; the curtain over the fresco by [A.d.] Castagno has been removed, everything is visible, except for the feet; it is not yet photographed; Dr. [Emil] Schaeffer is in Florence, [Jacques] Dwelshauvers and his wife [Clara] leave for Belgium at the end of the week
