Contentsthanks him for having made a copy for Warburg from Neri di Bicci; he now knows more about Chimenti di Lorenzo; as a matter of course, Dwelshauvers may use Warburg's lecture notes on Dutch art; on dating the age of the sons of Maria Bonciani on a Hugo van der Goes painting; they look much older on the painting than they were in real life, as the painter could not paint children's faces; comments that 'M.T.' on the 'Hennin' headgear would point to 'Maria Tommasi'; on dating the painting, comments on San Matteo, St. Thomas; refers him to H. Janitschek's article in 'Gesellschaft der Renaissance', also to [Eugène] Müntz, [Johann Wilhelm] Gaye and the Milanesi Documenti; advises him to check the Brockhaus encyclopaedia; informs him that Heinrich Brockhaus might receive funding from the German state; the German flag has been flying on the building on the occasion of the birthday of the Emperor for many years; asks him to compare the printed text of the letter by Fontio [Fontius] on finding the corpse of a Roman girl, as published by Hubert Janitschek, with the original in the collection of letters by Bartolomeo Fontio in Magliabecchiana, cod. Capponian. 77
