Contentsacknowledges receipt of Warburg's books; thanks him; he will write a note about Warburg's research ['Bildniskunst']; is very impressed with Warburg's work; it is important to see that looking at art needs to take in every source, all the material extant, documents, literature, objects; it shows that is it very rewarding to revisit well-known masterpieces; advises Warburg not to take the critics too seriously; praises Warburg how he presented Lorenzo and his children, in future the characterisation by Vasari will no longer suffice, 'we no longer need his glasses'; he has distributed the books, as requested by Warburg, except for the copies to Gustaf F. Steffen and Miss [Isolde] Kurz; informs him that [Igino Benvenuto] Supino buys German books, his wife translates them for him; Brockhaus had a very good discussion with R. Davidsohn on the beginning of portraiture the previous day; among the Lanckoronski photographs there are 14 photographs of cities from the Pitti corridor; Contessa Gracina asked Brockhaus to tell Warburg that she enjoyed reading his book ['Bildniskunst']; two pages draft
