| Contents | thanks him for letter; was very interested to read what Bode wrote about [Friedrich von] Marcuard, that beneath his blameless appearance he has a strong scholarly interest; asks Bode to send him sketches of the coats-of-arms on the majolica objects and he will try to supply attributions; he has asked [R.] Borrmann to make photographs of coats-of-arms; Warburg has found two letters of 1494 showing that Botticelli was working in majolica in Castello; complains that Schubring made use Warburg's disclosure of this discovery during a meeting in the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz and that Schubring published it in his 'Cicerone'; on the Benci impresa; he cannot find documentary evidence that a picture of a juniper bush was the family emblem for the Benci, but it was for Ginevra, ginepro meaning juniper |
