Contentsthanks him for a copy of 'Die Wandbilder'; he liked Warburg's article, Warburg skilfully avoided platitudes and did not conceal his view; he has not seen the original murals, only the reproductions and they did not interest him; doubts whether Warburg's view will be taken seriously by the Hamburg Senate; the time is not ripe for monumental official art in Germany; he can only see public art which is fragmentary or compromising in questions of taste; queries one statement, when Warburg complained about the blue and grey tones of the murals which mirror the lack of moral expression of those who work in the townhall; on his own painting style, finds that he is painting more harmoniously than previously, less excited by expressionism; he is very happy with working in Paris; he is preparing an exhibition in Berlin in the winter; Paul Cassirer's agent [Theodor] Stoperan visited him in Paris and discussed the exhibition with him
