Contentsthanks him for letter of 03/08/1911 which was addressed to him in London, but he had left London before receiving it there; it was dreadfully hot in London; he enjoyed visiting the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum; he has not visited charming Mr. Heseltine and has not seen his collection; the Salting collection has been bequeathed to the British Museum; has met Campbell Dodgson, a Dürer specialist, in the Department of Prints and Drawings, British Museum; Arthur M. Hind has made a catalogue of Rembrandts drawings and will publish a catalogue of etchings; opposes Hans Wolfgang Singer's views; Hofstede de Groot gave Kruse an introduction to Sir [Herbert] Cook and his collection of paintings in Richmond; he saw the National Gallery, but not the Wallace Collection, Dulwich Gallery; before going to London Kruse was in Paris for two weeks for the exhibition of Dutch paintings and drawings in private collections; he then went to Frankfurt and visited the Städel'sches Institut and then to The Netherlands; he is on his way to visit Vienna, Dresden and Berlin; thanks Saxl for his card, is very happy to hear that Saxl thinks of writing his PhD on Rembrandt; hopes that Saxl has sent him photographs as promised; sends him photographs of Rembrandt drawings; mentions Govert Flinck, Lastman, L. Bramer, Jan Lievens; permits Saxl to publish the Bramer drawing after Lievens; refutes the title 'angel', which Carl Larsson has given Kruse, but even so he wants to help the female friend of Saxl, the teacher; is certain tht she could find employment in Sweden as teacher, she should write to Fredrika Bremerförbundet in Stockholm
