Contentsthanks Warburg and Mary Warburg most warmly for their hospitality in Hamburg; compares it to life in luxury, like the Phaeacian; was very happy, not to do nothing the whole time, but to engage in work with Warburg; his son visited the Tivoli in Copenhagen, was at the helm of a motorboat in Kiel harbour, visited Hagenbeck Zoo and the steamship 'Blücher'; his wife will visit her relatives in Switzerland; thanks Warburg for letters and cables, a copy of [Stewart] Culin's book [author of books on Oriental games, dice, chess etc.] and photographs of manuscripts in Vienna; requests the invoice for the photographs and Warburg's article for the Heidelberg Academy; is pleased that Firmicus has been explained and is looking forward to reading [Konrat] Ziegler's explanations; the arrangement of planets with Pseudo-Callisthenes (Nectanebus) is simply following the days of the week; Warburg has left out Hermes in his letter; Boll did not know the arrangement of the stones as sent by Warburg; only Hermes = smaragdos is listed in the literature; replies in detail to Warburg's queries, why Abraham was the source for the so-called 'myriogenesis' [medical aspects of the theory of correspondence between the human microcosm and universal macrocosm] has been explained by Boll in his book 'Sphaera'; mentions Aesculapius as the writer or the real myriogenesis; Saxl's letter is 'nice and honest'; returns it to Warburg; but because Saxl is so honest, Boll is inclined to employ not Saxl, but a philologist; Boll can teach Saxl Greek petrography, but Saxl needs to know more than that; the seven rings of Apollonios von Tyrus are parallel to the seven stones of the seven planets of Nectanebus; Boll is very busy in the summer semester; hopes to finish his [Wilhelm Heinrich] Roscher article; sends greetings to [Felix von] Eckardt
