Thiele; detailed consideration what Saxl should do and what he should not check; agrees with Saxl, to separate astrological from astronomical images; Saxl needs to write provenance on each photograph; geometrical images need not be photographed, only those with drawings attached, heads, jewellery; images of the zodiac are probably very frequent, Saxl need not photograph all of them; general description of manuscript is important, but not too detailed; encloses a sheet as model for Saxl how to describe a manuscript [not extant]; Saxl needs to keep text and image together, sometimes also photographing the text; is sorry that Saxl cannot use the photographic material already kept in the Heidelberg Academy, but Boll does not allow it to be sent to Italy; wants to know where to send him the money; the secretary of the Academy, Windelband, will not write to Saxl with the information of the award, as he was told that Boll had done so already; asks him to take Boll's greetings to Prof. Ehrle, [Giovanni] Mercati and Franchi de' Cavalieri in the Vatican library
