Contentsapologizes for late reply, he has pains in his shoulder and cannot write; he has been doing research in the unheated Stadtbibliothek and found an interesting lead in his Luther research; cannot supply Saxl's address as he will be moved shortly; detailed account of illustrations of paintings in Salone, only a few Alinari photographs exist; neither Warburg nor Saxl had been allowed to order photographs to be made in Salone; Danesi might have more photographs, [Andrea] Moschetti published some in 'Gli antichi ristauri', mentions [William] Burges's book on the Salone, [Bruno Archibald] Fuchs 'Ikonographie der 7 Planeten in der Kunst Italiens' and calls the Fuchs PhD 'claptrap'; is prepared to send him the few photographs he has for a short time; on Johann Virdung from Hassfurt, who has influenced the Heidelberg early Renaissance, promoted by the Count Palatine Philipp; there must be manuscripts by him in the Heidelberg library
