| Contents | refers to the characterisation of Mary according to Duscha's [Irma von Duczynska's] palm reading; thanks Max [Warburg] and Mary for writing about it; he also had a letter from Moritz [Warburg], from Ernst Schwedeler-Meyer a wonderful letter as only he can write one; Schwedeler-Meyer has been appointed [H. von] Tschudi's assistant at Nationalgalerie [Berlin]; Warburg received a stupid letter from Dr. [F.] Lemke and a letter acknowledging receipt of Warburg's article by Dr. [Wilhelm] Kiesselbach; Warburg will write to Miss [Hermine?] Lüders; he has sent the winter coats to Hamburg; it has also turned cold in Florence, but he is still working in the archive as the inventory material is very interesting; he might give a lecture 'Botticelli in der angewandten Kunst' in the Kunsthistorische Institut in Florenz soon; the previous day he gave a dinner party for [Max Georg] Zimmermann, [Ernst] Hohenemser, [Georg] Swarzenski and Graf [G.] Vitzthum; the meal went very well, late in the evening Adelia had words with Pietro [Rossi]; mentions Rosina; tells her that the new stove is working well, but he has forgotten that he put Mary's hat in it to stop the draught; when he, for the first time, made a fire the hat was burnt; sends greetings to children; tells her to buy all the presents Detta [Marietta Warburg] wants for Christmas; hopes to be back in Hamburg by Christmas |
