| Contents | detailed report of the wedding of their cousin Johanna [née Schiff, oo Meyer]; the wedding took place in the house of [Johanna's father] uncle Paul Schiff [father of bride]; Professor Sulzer of the Jewish community recited the prayers; the house was turned into the 'most beautiful temple'; Paul and Robert, the sons of Max Schiff [brother-in-law of Rosa Schiff, uncle of the bride], led the procession, next came Ernst Meyer [Ernst Schwedeler-Meyer?] [relative of bridegroom Paul Meyer] from Berlin, then Max [Maximilian Paul Schiff] and Rudi [Rudolf Schiff], who are Johanna's brothers, then the bridegroom led by the two fathers, followed by Julius Schiff and Max Schiff [two brothers of father of the bride, Paul Schiff] and Moritz Warburg; the bridesmaids were Helene Schiff [sister of bride], Charlotte [sister of bride], Anna, Marie and Emmy Schiff and Sascha Steiner; Johanna was led by the two mothers and followed by aunt Marianne [Zagury], then followed the wife of Max Schiff [uncle of the bride] and Charlotte Warburg; there were some 150 to 200 wedding guests; Charlotte Warburg met her 'beloved' Dr. Breuer; the rabbi Dr. Güdemann, Julius Schiff and Moritz Warburg gave after-dinner speeches; Mrs.Max Schiff [aunt of the bride] persuaded Charlotte and Moritz Warburg to go to the opera and see one act of 'Troubadour'; was very impressed by the opera building; thanks Franziska [Jahns] for reports; is happy for them to see 'Robert und Bertram' or another play; they will leave Vienna the next day and travel to Frankfurt am Main |
