| Contents | he has returned from Frankfurt on 03/01/1887; he has already met up with [Hans] Nippen and [Felix] Scheidt and went on a two day trip to Ahrtal with them; they travelled from Bonn to Meckenheim and from then on walked to Altenahr; they stayed in Hotel Caspari; he enjoyed it tremendously, an event of real student 'wanderlust'; he needs money as he left Frankfurt with Mark 20 debts to Max Warburg; he spent most of his money on tips, carriages, flowers; he was made very welcome in the Schuster household, also at Emil Sulzbach's and his wife and his parents; asks her to hand Warburg's skates to Paul Ruben to take them to Bonn; he needs a fur hat, boots, but has no money; he had hoped that the 'Jüdenkindchen' [pun on 'Christ Child'] would bring him presents at New Year, but his hope was in vain; would like his father to send him a box of cigars; Mark 50 Chanuka money was spent very fast; hopes that his mother would send him Mark 100; he does not like to go begging; had he known how much he would need in Frankfurt, he would have stayed in Bonn; [Emil] and [Anna] Ungar invited him to supper next day; sends greetings to Malchen [Amalie Goldschmidt], 'Vadding' [father Moritz Warburg], the Alsterufer relatives, the siblings, Doretta-Loreley [ Franziska] |
