| Contents | tells him that Paul and Moritz Warburg have sent him a letter the same day; advises him to hand in his PhD, to come to an end; also, he should make little weekend trips, to Baden-Baden, with or without friends; Max Portheim lives there with his mother [Bertha von Portheim] and his sister Gabriele, [oo to August] Jordan; advises him to fence for an hour every morning; Paul is fencing every morning and likes it very much; Paul will have reported to Warburg on the dinner party on 02/12/1891, in honour of Alice Oppenheimer and the superintendent Dr. Haase; the eleven gentlemen were made up of one superintendent [Dr. Theodor Haase], one Regierungsrat [Dr. Pieck], one medical doctor [Max von der Porten], one solicitor [Dr. Paul Oppenheimer, original name Philipp Oppenheimer], one art historian [Adolph Goldschmidt], one Amtsrichter [Judge] (Max Hinrichsen), one gentleman of private means [Albert Oppenheim], three businessmen and Paul Warburg; forwards a letter by Max Warburg; uncle Moritz [Oppenheim] wants to make a voyage on board of the 'Augusta Victoria' in February 1892 and is looking for a companion; would Warburg want to accompany him?; Fritz and Ise [Louise Warburg] have gone wtih Franziska to see 'Wilhelm Tell'; advises him to go to the theatre; [Ascan] Lutteroth wrote that he has finished the painting and the Warburg family could come and view it on Sunday, 06/12/1891; Warburg's room has been redecorated; in the cupboard she keeps wine, fruit etc. |
