ContentsCharlotte asks whether he has received a parcel with cleaning cloths, painting utensils, fruit?; is annoyed that Warburg's landlady does not provide cleaning materials; informs him that Max Hinrichsen, the 'Amtsrichter' [Judge], got engaged to Alice Jacobi; on 06/12/1891 they went to [Ascan] Lutteroth and viewed the painting; they like it very much; the wooden frame will arrive from Frankfurt the next day; the old 'Tranchierzimmer' [a room next to the dining room] has been turned into a comfortable smoking corner; Max Warburg wrote that he cannot obtain a bust of Thomas Carlyle; [Ascan] Lutteroth showed them a second watercolour from Fontenay, a little bit different from the one they had commissioned, but also very beautiful; Lutteroth suggested to Moritz Warburg to donate the second Fontenay painting to Kunsthalle; Moritz Warburg accepted and informed Lichtwark; Lichtwark was very grateful; Moritz Warburg only requested that his name would not be mentioned in the newspapers; Max Warburg will leave London soon and report back to the army in Halle and Munich; Charlotte, Moritz and Olga want to go to Berlin on 13/12/1891, they will stay in hotel 'Kaiserhof'; Lotte Mende, the actress, has died;Franziska refers to the 'precious' piece of material, sown over the basket; he can use it a cleaning cloth
