Contents | asks him to tell Moritz [Oppenheim], that he was very happy with Moritz's long letter of 08/07/1891; he will see to it that a letter is sent to Dr. Plotke; on 09/07/1891 Lotte [Charlotte Warburg] and Louise [Rosenbacher] arrived in Friedrichroda; on 09/07/1891 he and the children Olga and Fritz and Franziska went to Renz (circus] to celebrate Franziska's birthday; Martin. Blumenfeld showed Moritz Warburg a letter which Warburg had sent to Blumenfeld; as a result, Moritz Warburg sent a copy of the note [re Rosa Warburg wedding] in 'Hamburger Nachrichten' to Blumenfeld; Moritz Warburg does not know what Felix Warburg told Warburg about the wedding; the note is totally harmless, the fact that it was printed in the Society Columns is proof that the Warburg family belong to [good] society in Hamburg; does not understand why Warburg makes an issue of it; advises him to call at the firm of interior decorators Schneider & Hanau to have a look at the design for Warburg's new study, which at present is the 'Tranchierzimmer'; adds that the drapes, suggested by Schneider & Hanau to be put up above the sofa, will not be hung up; rather, a large painting will take their place; Moritz Warburg has commissioned A. Lutteroth to paint a scene of Sorrento or Capri; the painting will be 2 by 1,20 metres; with the help of 'such a warm landscape' Warburg's room will become very cosy and the view from the dining room very beautiful;enclosed is copy of the note printed in 'Hamburger Nachrichten', printed on 25/06/1891: on 24/06/1891 in the house of the Hamburg banker [Siegmund] Warburg the wedding took place of [Alexander von Günzburg] Baron von Günzburg, from Paris, son of the well-known banker in St. Petersburg, and [Rosa Warburg], the daughter of Siegmund Warburg; the chief rabbi, Dr. Hirsch, officiated at the wedding which took place in a purpose built addition to the family house and to which representatives of the stock exchange had been invited |
