| Contents | the previous day they had to attend a performance of Johann Strauss's opera 'Jakuba', a charity performance for the funds for widows of journalists; she has posted the photograph of 'aunt' Nina Loeb, albeit with some difficulties, [Gottschalk] Sander had to help wrapping it in cardboard and hessian; the dinner party in the Warburg house went very well, there was dancing until 2am; Moritz Warburg toasted the couples Otto Goldschmidt and Alice Hartoghs, Ella Goldschmidt and Ludwig Nauen, Aby S. Warburg and Olga as well as Max Hahlo and Lizzy Elkan; Max Friedländer toasted to Felix Warburg and Frieda Schiff and Dr. Gustav Heylbut thanked the hosts; Max Warburg was in charge of the dancing and chased the dancers up and down the whole house; on 29/01/1895 they will attend a fancy dress party at Otto Jonas's, Olga and Alice Magnus will wear the Japanese garments which Paul Warburg brought from Japan; on 07/02/1895 there will be a dance at [von der] Porten's in honour of Josefine Meyer who has arrived from Vienna; Mrs. Aschkenasy and daughter Sonia will also arrive from Braunschweig in Hamburg; forwards a photograph of Olga reading; it is probable that the two Misses Schiff [one of them Jenny Schiff] or Mrs. Dr. Lazarus will arrive in Florence shortly |
