| Contents | Warburg is very happy accompanying Paul Warburg to New York; hopes that Paul gains inner peace and gentleness through the beneficial influence of a wife; he is ready to travel, he has new ties from Friedheim, boots, clothes from Bethge; the previous day there was a dinner party with [Max von der] Porten, Adolph G. [Adolph Goldschmidt], Dr. [Gustav] Heylbut, Ernst Goldschmidt from London, who will accompany them to Southampton, Siegmund and Walter Robinow; a Mr. Bezold from Paris visited them, Warburg would have liked his parents at home, as Franziska is not a good host and Olga does not want to exert herself; they visited aunt Täubchen [Théophilie Warburg] who is blossoming like an apple from Borgdorf [in Schleswig-Holstein]; Elsa Warburg is also very well; thanks for their letters from Ostend but does not find them enthusiastic; wonders whether father has enough acquaintances there; Mrs. Abeele wrote that her son Robert, 17 years of age, has died; Lene [Helene Schiff] and Lotte [Charlotte Schiff] have left; they enjoyed their stay in Hamburg; wishes them a good time and is looking forward meeting up with them again in Hamburg |
