Contentshe has been travelling for two weeks and is very happy with his trip; the landscape is grandiose, red rock formations, snow covered mountain tops, the air is light; 'The Garden of the Gods' [English in the original] is a Böcklinesque world, as if created for secret pagan religious practices; he has been received 'fabulously' well by the leading people; praises the open, intelligent and uncomplicated Americans in the West who he prefers to the rich people on the East coast; the mood in Cripple-Creek is good because of the favourable commercial developments; he plans to go to Durango, Mancos, Wetherill Ranch [belonging to B. K. Wetherill] and Cliff Dwellings
