Contentsit is the second time that their letters have crossed; thanks him for letter of 08/11/1895; corrects him that she did not think that everything was well, because he did not write; is very excited that he travels in the US; hopes that the new impressions might provide food for the 'great thought'; she is pleased that he still writes to her, that he confides in her; Mary visited the Warburg family for a meal and had a very good time there; she is very sorry that Warburg's cousin [Aby S. Warburg] has lost his young wife [Olga Lucie Leonino]; does he know families in Florence who might wish to offer accommodation to a young woman who wants to learn Italian?; the young woman could be a paying guest or offer German lessons in return; the young woman is the sister of [Max L.] Strack's sister-in-law Ellen [Carr?]; mentions Th. Carlyle's 100th birthday on the previous day; is grateful to Warburg for having introduced her to Carlyle's books; seven years ago, the weather in Florence was wonderful; the weather in Hamburg is so very bad, the light so dark, that she cannot work; John [Johann Nicolaus Hertz] is very satisfied with his work; he will come to Hamburg at Christmas, Strack as well; sends New Year greetings
