Contentsthanks him for two letters she received after her return from Campe; on her return journey in the train she could not stop thinking that only four weeks previously she had travelled the same route with her 'black monster'; she has to think about the illustrations for the book on the Beets family; is very much looking forward to meeting Warburg on Sunday, 08/08/1897; should she also invite Max [Warburg]?; promises to see Deutschmann; she enjoyed her stay in Campe, it was so peaceful and calm and she loved being outside in the open air; calls herself 'Feldputze'; aunt Marie [Maria Elisabeth Hertz], despite being in mourning, was calm; Mary enjoyed meeting Warburg's mother who was very sweet
