Contentsshe is keeping up her correspondence with her children in New York and Florence and despite this they complain, they can never have enough letters from her; reports on the dinner party on 25/01/1898; encloses a newspaper article in 'Hamburgischer Correspondent' about it [no longer extant]; it took place in Sagebiel'sche Saal, ladies wore evening dresses with diamond jewellery; Charlotte wore her dark blue velvet dress, Olga and Louise wore party dresses; it took an hour to arrive because there were so many carriages; the entertainment with tableaux vivants of St. Pauli, with Mr. Laiesz [Gerth] as shipowner and the wife of Professor Franz Eyssenhardt as fishwife and pretty girls dressed as women from Heligoland and Vierlande, was very well done; Max Warburg in his role as 'caller' and von Holten in his role as 'Mattler', the director of the theatre, were very funny; the man who put it all together, Director Petersen, was very pleased; Rudi [Rudolf Schiff] was also in Hamburg, full of good humour but he is not a very serious man; Panina [Paul and Nina Warburg] wrote from Lakewood; Nina's mother is getting better; Panina [Paul and Nina Warburg] will leave New York for Hamburg on 26/02/1898; Nina's parents will not visit them in the summer; Louise Warburg is taking elocution classes
