| Contents | thanks her warmly for letters and cards; is very happy that Warburg starts riding a bicycle; Charlotte's brother has also taken to riding a bicycle and loves it; thanks aunt Emma [Bartels] for her letters; on 02/02/1899, when aunt Emma's husband was at Charlotte's, he entertained them by singing in his beautiful voice; Dr. Bartels knew Mrs. [Lola] Magnus [née Schorstein, oo Hermann Magnus and had nine children, one of them Alice Magnus], because the brothers of Mrs. Magnus, called Schorstein, from Odessa, had been lodging with Dr. and Mrs. [Emma?] Bartels; Olga [Kohn-Speyer] and Paul have bought a house in London, South Kensington; Mrs. Dr. Sulzbach, Olga's sister-in-law, had a son and is doing well; Max and Alice are frequently invited; Charlotte Warburg suggests a wedding present: as the Warburg family received eight silver candlesticks, they could present four of them to Malice [Max Warburg and Alice Magnus]; the candlesticks are still in Hamburg, in the Warburg house; Frieda Warburg wrote that her parents are travelling to Nice, England and Hamburg; Mr. [Morris] Loeb's health is improving; preparations for the eve of the wedding [of Max Warburg and Alice Magnus] festivities are underfoot in Fontenay; 'Bubi' [James Paul Warburg] is charming |
