| Contents | Charlotte reports that Olga [Kohn-Speyer] is very well; Marian has dark hair, the Warburg looks come through in her; Nina [Warburg] and Bettina are fine; Charlotte and Moritz [Warburg] visited Mrs. [Lola] Magnus the previous day, Malice [Max and Alice Warburg] the same day; Fritz [Warburg] will return to Berlin on 03/01/1901; Walter [von der] Porten, from London, visited as well; have Aby and Mary Warburg received the case of wine from Hamburg and from Trier?; Miss [Wilhelmine] Niels has sold a large painting, 'Heidebild', which she has painted at Kösterberg, to Eduard Sanders whose daughter is a student of Niels's; another woman presented Miss Niels with money for a trip to Paris; however, Panina [Warburg] are astonished that Miss Niels has not congratulated them on the birth of Bettina; [Solomon and Betty] Loeb arrived safely in New York; on Thursday, 03/01/1901, Emperor Wilhelm will visit the new Schauspielhaus; as Charlotte and Moritz [Warburg] have tickets for the same evening, the director of the theatre asked them to surrender their balcony tickets to the entourage of the Emperor and accept tickets on the upper circle; sends New Year greetings; Moritz reports that Mary's mother is well; sends New Year greetings; Fritz [Warburg] seems to have made progress in the last term; re Spielhagen-Banken in Berlin: M. M.Warburg & Co. have no business dealings with these 'bandits'; the Empress should not have entered into dealings with these people |
