| Contents | sends congratulations on the birth of their new niece [Bettina Warburg]; hopes that [Aby and Mary] Warburg will spend a good winter in Florence, not as cold as the previous winter; thanks Mary for a recipe for herb butter, he did not use it for his house warming party; his housekeeper is a bit dull-witted; Fritz is very pleased with his new flat, and very proud of his invention, the subscription suppers in his flat; the housewarming party, called 'Hausnudel', and the furniture etc. were expensive but it was worth it; they were 18 men and 7 women; the women were friends of Rudi [Rudolf Schiff]'s, among them two Misses Hirschfeld, Lisbeth and another Miss Kronecker [her sister?], Mary McIntyre, a sculptress from Scotland who lives at Meier's, Toni Goldsticker from Hamburg, Miss Moldenhauer; Rudi's aunt, Frau Professor Zahn was supposed to attend as chaperon but had to cancel in the last minute; mentions Adolph Goldschmidt, Franz Oppenheimer who is 'Syndicus' at Fritz Friedländer's, Georg Jaffé who had come from Leipzig; Paul Jacobsohn sent apologies; Fritz is very proud that everything went very well; he served bread and butter, cake, beer, tea, mineral water, lemon squash; Erich [Hornbostel] and his friend from Vienna, Seybel, played the piano and violin and everybody danced; next day Mr. and Mrs. Zahn called on him as well as Medinger from Halle, Siebner, [G.] Jaffé from Leipzig, Dr. Exner |
