Contentscongratulates Max on Olga's baby, Marion; on his work; he has made a discovery: he can attribute a painting by Ghirlandaio in a chapel to represent Lorenzo di Medici and the male members of his family, 6 men and 5 children, larger than life, c. 1485; Warburg wants to publish his findings quite quickly; is very pleased to read that he has a free hand with book purchases; it will enable him to pursue his research into three main areas, literature, art and political history; Mary Warburg and Aby Warburg are very sorry for John [Johann Nicolaus Hertz], the lack of water [in Helmstedt] is a setback; but they hope the best for the future; wants to have information on the mortgage lenders in Prussia, they no longer figure in the stocks and shares as published in Frankfurter Zeitung; enjoyed reading Tönnies' article in 'Der Lotse'; Warburg was unable to write anything about the Toni O'Swald [Antonie O'Swald] play which has been changed on the night of the performance, as the second charity performance was another play, according to Carl [Mönckeberg]; Warburg would like to write something on antisemitism in Hamburg for the January issue; requests some statistical material, number of Jews in Hamburg, professions, property; asks him to ask [Richard] Robinow to buy the larger of the [Ginevra] de' Nobili paintings for Warburg; requests explanations about the Kristiana-Consortium and the Mecklenburgische Hypothekenbank
