Contents | Warburg enjoys the company of Dr. [Heinrich] Embden, the friends photographed Embden; Warburg is impressed by Camposanto, not so much by Gozzoli, but by the artists of the Trecento; the artists Pisani are wonderful, 'the Toscana as a region has in its innermost core never been nearer to its own antiquity than in Giovanni Pisano'; the previous evening Warburg visited [Heinrich] Brockhaus, met Mila [Brock?], they all send greetings to Mary, but they are all extremely boring; [Robert and Philippine] Davidsohn were their charming mummified selves; he no longer likes the apartment in Florence, the apartment in Hansastrasse is much better; sends congratulations on their wedding day; they spent five years in happiness; [André and Mathilde] Jolles are very enthusiastic about the work in Freiburg |
