Contentsthanks him for letter and offprints; returns one of the offprints with thanks; he knows the Block books kept in Berlin, Vienna, London, Basle, Heidelberg, Graz and Zurich and the most important manuscripts in Vienna, Munich, Basle, Karlsruhe, Kassel, Berlin, Erfurt, Stolberg; agrees with Warburg that the Berlin Block Book or a similar one has influenced the Florentine series and not the other way round; mentions Ignaz Beth's book 'Baumzeichnung' who was wrong in accepting [Friedrich] Lippmann's research result, as the Berlin Block Book has been copied already in 1455 and the Florentine planetariums have certainly been produced later; there are many questions in connection with research of representations of planets, a Viennese art historian, Fritz Saxl 'will write a 'big book' about it; 'what nobody else has achieved, will be achieved by the Viennese, who are exceedingly conceited'
