Contentsthanks him for a book 'Buddhismus'; Haas, as the director of a national research institute for comparative religion, has plans for three projects: a, the foundation of an archive of images, maps and documents in the field of comparative religion; b, the edition of a book 'Allgemeine Religionskunde in Bildern' and c, a volume which is badly needed, a 'Bilderatlas' for the study of the general history of religions; he is trying to find contributors for his project b; as Haas is very impressed with the book he received, he invites him to contribute to the section on Buddhism; the book is precisely what Haas wants to achieve with his own project b; it would have fitted wonderfully in the series on Buddhism, which will have to chart the legend of Buddha iconographically; he is not interested in unpublished material only, he wants to produce books explaining religions to the general public; mentions [Albert] Grünwedel, [Albert von] LeCoq, [Lucian] Schermann, Berthold Laufer, [Hugo] Münsterberg, [Hermann] Oldenberg; [Alfred] Foucher, being an enemy foreigner, cannot be invited any more; is sad to read that Thomann had died; Haas regrets but cannot use the Hans Ludwig Held bibliography in the book [by Hermann Beckh]
