Contents	thanks him for his Christmas wishes; returns them, hopes for speedy recovery; the flu in Hamburg is not severe, Carl [Stromberger], Usch [Ursula Benemann] and Lene [Magdalene Hertz, née Benemann]] had a touch of flu; but the Benemann family had the flu very badly; Max Adolph brought Mary Warburg's presents; Carl Stromberger, his sister Luise and his mother will celebrate Christmas with the Hertz family; Hans is staying in Worms with his grandfather and will meet his brother Walther there, coming from Munich; has the feeling that Hans has found his place, is interested in the church historian von Schubert whose books express the same sentiment about church reform as Hertz is engaged in; on the second holiday at Christmas they will visit Mary Warburg; the silhouette, made by Hanna [Johanna] Hertz of Mary Warburg, is very beautiful; his wife hopes to develop her art further; on his post in the justice department; it is not easy for him after many years working in Youth Courts
