| Contents | apologizes for late reply; old grandfather [Kirchenrat?] Benemann stayed with them for two weeks; Benemann is now in Bergedorf; on 10/09/1922 they celebrated his 80th birthday, Mary Warburg also attended; Wilhelm's son Hans looked after the grandfather, Lene [Magdalene Hertz] and son Wilhelm [Wilhelm Adolph Hertz] also came; Walther [Hertz, also a son of Magdalene] arrived a few days later, Max Adolph [Warburg], however, visits only rarely; admires Max Adolph's sense of humour; Frede is a lovely girl, calm; Wilhelm has decided against visiting the owners of Uhenfels castle [Georges Siegmund Warburg and Lucie Warburg]; afterwards he was told that they had not been there anyway; he enjoyed his holiday, his return journey via Wiesensteig, Geislingen, Ulm; mentions Dreißigacker, an adult education initiative, living with 'Proletarians' and learning to trust each other; praises this new education system; enjoyed staying there for two weeks; he needed to arrange his lectures on legal concepts quite differently; he will teach in the coming winter semester, he wants to immerse himself into the new laws, civil law, commercial law in order to prepare himself for the career as judge; Wilhelm's son [Hans Hertz?] wants to continue his studies in Munich; Wilhelm is eager that he finishes as quickly as possible; Warburg's family will visit Warburg in October; he remembers his visit in Kreuzlingen fondly and is pleased to hear that Warburg did not suffer any ill effects afterwards; he will gladly visit him again |
