| Contents | on his research in Biblioteca Nazionale on the inventor Camillo Agrippa; mentions Agrippa's work 'Trattato di Scientia d'arme' as it best shows the bridge between technical practical instructions and mathematical cosmological principles; he has made excerpts and will forward them to Warburg; is convinced that Agrippa is an important thinker who would merit analytical research; Doren and his wife [Anna Doren] will move to Siena so that he can study Agostino Chigi's dates of birth and baptism for Warburg; they will then move to Rome to deal with all of Warburg's queries; would be grateful if Warburg sent them some money so that they can spend some time in Rome; they enjoy being back in Florence, note that fascism rules everywhere but as such was unable to kill the personal charm of the population; they are well looked after in Petri's hotel, especially by Charlottchen; they met Davidsohn who are both well; they also met Mrs. [Charlotte] Hahn and Miss [Dora] Magnus at Davidsohns'; they plan to visit Alceste Giorgetti shortly before their departure; are shocked by what [Robert and Philippine] Davidsohn told them of Giorgetti's behaviour towards Davidsohns during the war; the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz is busy, mainly German scholars; likes the new arrangement in the galleries, courtesy of Giovanni Poggi, a lasting memorial to his work; everybody is looking forward to Max Adolph [Warburg'] arrival in Florence; when Max Adolph was in Florence in the previous autumn he won everybody's friendship; Doren hopes that Max Adolph will become friends with Doren's nephew Adolph; sends greetings to Warburg's 'various tormentors'; his wife Ännchen [Anna Doren] sends greetings, his sister sends greetings |
