| Contents | thanks him for letter; finds the [Werner] Weisbach and [Paul] Schubring 'affair' [Habilitation] 'crazy'; she can well understand that Warburg is annoyed; [Wilhelmine] Niels has started drawing Mary, but Mary is not allowed to see the portrait yet; Niels remarked how 'Dutch' Mary looked, like a face painted by [B.] van der Helst; Niels showed her Alice [Warburg]'s letter and the cheque for Mark 1,000, she was very happy; Mary will forward the book to Frédéric Engel-Gros; she has sent Warburg clean shirts; Trudel Pudel [Gertrud Amsinck] had a baby, a girl, last night; everything went well, as Mary was told at the Carr family by Mr. Mietsch; she also saw Ellen Schmilinsky and her baby; relates a comment by Henry Gossler, that it was disappointing that Gertrud had a girl and not a boy; Mary visited aunt 'Teufele' [Théophilie Warburg] together with Max Adolph [Warburg], as the aunt had presented her with a playpen; Käthe [Embden?] and Mary produced posters; Niels was astonished how well Mary had drawn one of the Embdens [Heinrich and Gertrud Embden]; sends greetings to Baerwalds; Niels has started with a painting for Fontenay; Max Adolph [Warburg] ate a meat broth |
