Dr. Herder and all of them drove to aunt Malchen [Amalie Goldschmidt]; Herder found nothing; Aby S. [Warburg] is also getting better, but Fritz [Warburg] will be on his own in the firm in the next few days, so that he will not be great company in the evenings; Verda and Elsa [Elsa Marianne Warburg, sister of Anna Beata Warburg?] are in Hamburg, but they speak so badly German that a conversation with them is very difficult; he likes Ingrid [Warburg], the baby of Fritz and Anna Beata [Warburg]; reminds Mary to send the [wages?] receipt for Miss [Margareth] Thurnham; the next day he will lunch with George Heise in Hamburg, they will discuss Heise; in the evening he will eat at [Heinrich and Gertrud] Embden's; is happy that the family seems to like Oberhof; it is as yet undecided whether he will be able to join them in the next few days; he only wants to stay for two weeks; he might go to Dresden either before or after Oberhof; he has received a number of positive comments about the Maximilian article; so far, everybody seems to believe what Warburg has written; has Mary received her camera? |
