Contents | thanks him for his letter with birthday greetings; the children and Miss [Margaret] Thurnham did their utmost to fill Mary's birthday table; [Paul] Clemen surely is no disappointment for Warburg, he never valued him higly; sends greetings to Mrs. Hermanin; Mary and Gelati have finished the translation of Warburg's lecture and Mary sent it by post the previous evening; there are some queries, but Warburg will be able to sort them out quickly; Gelati is very ill, she has angina, but finished the translation; Detta [Marietta Warburg] made a birthday present for Mary, a sculpture of a fountain with two squirrels; Mary will try to prepare it for casting; thanks him for his presents, a vanity table and a black silk handbag with a silver clasp; is pleased that he has company in the hotel, hopes that the rooms are comfortable; mentions yoghurt tablets; Mary expects a visit by Charlotte Warburg; praises him for having dealt with the plan by the Italians of editing the conference proceedings |
