Contentsthe weather is very good, hopes that Warburg has the same weather in Baden-Baden; Mr. Herrmann has been released from prison and went straight from Mannheim to Wilhelm Hertz to thank him; they are decent people; on the university question: he does not know anything; thinks the application by [Wilhelm] Dücker dangerous and all Hamburg would be disgraced in the eyes of the world if Dücker succeeded; arguments by former members like Engel and Westphal and outsiders like [Hugo] Münsterberg and [Gustav] Schiefler might make a good impression and might warn of simply extending existing institutes; on the application by Mönckeberg of raising payments for Senators, doubts that he will be successful; Wilhelm's wife Hanna [Johanna Hertz] has a bad throat infection; his son Hans had a very good school report, has moved up from place 19 to place 9 in his form and is allowed to go on a trip with Lene [Magdalene Hertz] and her sons [Wilhelm Adolph and Walther Hertz] to Gremsmühlen for three days
