Contentsis sorry not having sent a cable; he sent a postcard; on his essay for school, awaits his marks; his teacher, however, does not understand much about van Gogh, mixes him up with the painter [Ignacio] Zuloaga; isn't he the same painter Warburg interested [Carl] Justi in?; the previous day they went with Moldenhauer to Kiel, he enjoyed the outing despite his original misgivings; was very impressed with the Nolde paintings, a 'Crucifixion' in particular and 'Sommerwolken'; liked the Barlach sculptures; he did not like the Christian Rohlfs paintings, finds them coarse; otherwise he saw very good landscapes by painters from Schleswig-Holstein, especially Hillmers from Altona, [Arthur] Illies; Max Adolph has done drawings in pastels again
