Contentsshe will send the 'Sunday cake' shortly; is happy that Marietta has written to Warburg and reassured him about her visit to Kreuzlingen; Bertha de Voss has left, but Wilhelm [Wilhelm Adolph Hertz?] and Nurse Helene moved in; she is also expecting aunt Lene [Magdalene Hertz], but all of them will leave after the weekend except for [Wilhelm] Printz who will be staying till the end of September; the young Hertz boys, father Benemann, Usch [Ursula Benemann] etc. are coming in the evening for a meal; the next day the 80th birthday [of Paul Benemann] will be celebrated again; Walther [Hertz] will come and stay in Heilwigstrasse; Mary has to prepare the Kreuzlingen trip; Miss Dühren will go on holiday for three weeks; what does Marietta want to wear for the silver wedding anniversary?; her white silk dress?; what does she say about performing a little play?; only Max Adolph and Frede [Warburg] would be available to perform something, as Marietta is not there for rehearsals; Mary is busy with sewing an outfit for Frede's school play; she also has to paint something as present for Warburg; Warburg wants a painting of the house, Mary wants to paint the garden front with the canal and the garden; she also needs to make a watercolour portrait of Frede; Mrs. Krieg wants to sell her chickens and Mary is keen to buy and rear them; since they no longer have goats, the chickens could live in the stable; Nurse Helene wants to ask her relatives in Fallingbostel whether they would sell her chicken feed; the schools will not close for autumn holidays, but the Christmas holidays will last for four weeks; Frede will have to ask permission to travel to Kreuzlingen; the other day Frede's form made a trip with her school to Welsede; Frede will write to Marietta about the 'Bergfest'; informs her that father [Alard] du Bois-Reymond and son Roland went sailing in the Baltic Sea and died by drowning; the boom fell and must have hit both; Mary spoke to old Mrs. Gompertz who had just returned from Plön; is very upset, Roland was a pilot in the war and survived the war; Lea [Horwitz, née du Bois-Reymond, Roland's sister] is very calm and collected; the Horwitz family were also there when they received the bad news; asks Marietta to send condolences to Hamburg, Sophienterrasse 15
