Contents | thanks for mail; on [Hans] Meier, is sure that now that he has additional leave, he will prepare himself for his exams; [Edgar] Wind is dealing with Meier very well; Meier visited [Richard] Salomon; mention Dr. [Elsbeth] Jaffé; Mary has ordered the copies of 'Italien' as requested; the previous day Mary visited the Pauli family, Miss [Elisabeth] von Schmidt-Pauli gave a lecture on Rainer Maria Rilke, a friend of hers; Guschen [Gustav Pauli] is very much enjoying his stay in the USA; is happy for the American students to meet such a wonderful German professor; Mary admires also [Adolph] Goldschmidt; Walter Derenberg has passed his law exams and Max [Warburg] has congratulated him and presented him with the chance to spend half a year in England; Walther, however, asked him to be allowed to go to America and Max [Warburg] agreed; Liese [Louise Derenberg] is still gushing about her stay in America, loves the country estate of Panina [Paul and Nina Warburg], but found Friedaflix's [Felix and Frieda Warburg's] country house like a perfectly run hotel; Paul [Warburg] has finished his book; Mary has to finish her sculpture of Peter [Paul Braden] the next day; refutes Warburg's criticisms that it is a mistake of hers to make larger than life size sculptures; rather the opposite; he might mix her up with Anita Rée's sculptures; Clara [Hertz] will write shortly, Marietta as well; Saxl is not yet back from Paris; Mary wanted to visit Mrs. Cassirer, her old father has died, but she had not returned from Vienna yet; Cassirer received her, was very charming; sends greetings to Bing and greetings from the 'Night Asylum' |
