Contentsrefers to his previous letter, sticks to his views expressed there: he does not want to go to Breslau university as a professor next to [R.] Muther or under him; after having read Bode's letter of 09/09/1906 he thought that Muther's professorship has become vacant and Bode would offer it to Warburg; but Warburg does not want an extraordinary professorship next to Muther; agrees with Professor [H.] Ebbinghaus that Muther has to go; Muther's understanding of culture is so different from Warburg's that they would clash; [Max] Semrau, a colleague of Warburg's from their Florence days, is in Breslau and has long been waiting for a professorship; teaching in Bonn would be different, there Warburg could freely teach and express his critique; he does not think that Eduard Firmenich-Richartz would be in competition to him and he does not expect any help from [Paul] Clemen; but Clemen is efficient and what is most important, [Carl] Justi is in Bonn and Warburg is very fond of him, his genuine love for truth and his great scholarship, the best example of a German scholar; Warburg would rather serve under him than serve next to a 'hot-air merchant' [Muther]; asks him to help him get appointed in Bonn
