| Contents | thanks him for a letter of 22/07/1917; welcomes [Werner von] Melle's initiative to publish a commemorative volume for [Robert] Münzel;suggests not to include Fr. Burg's oration at the funeral; instead Melle should invite [Albert] Köster, [Erich] Marcks, possibly [Friedrich] Koepp in Frankfurt; Warburg himself might not find time to write an article about [Robert] Münzel, but he will try and look through Münzel's literary estate whether there is unpublished material which ought to be published; what Warburg is really concerned about is that the Münzel library stays in Hamburg; since it has to be sold, Warburg has suggested to the heirs to act as representative of the friends of the deceased; he has spoken to Heinrich Münzel, representing the Münzel side of the family, and Mrs. [Erika] Hüglin [née Villiez, cousin of [Robert] Münzel], representing the Villiez side of the family; suggests the same procedure which followed the death of [Hans] Wegehaupt: the books from Münzel's library, which are not in Stadtbibliothek, should go to Stadtbibliothek; the remainder should stay together as the nucleus for the library of a new institute on classical philology in the planned Hamburg University; he would welcome it if the Wissenschaftliche Stiftung would purchase the library; Warburg values the library at Mark 1,500 to 2,000; the heirs would be very grateful to receive this sum for the books in order to pay off the costs for [Robert] Münzel's illness; Warburg offers his services to be a member of the appointment committee for the Münzel succession in Stadtbibliothek |
