Contents | they left Badenweiler; the grandparents travelled to aunt Helene [Rosenbacher] and her daughters; Olga and Charlotte Warburg spent a few days in Karlsruhe with Marc, Mathilde Rosenberg and Rosa Fürth's [recte: Rosa Felsenstein, née Fürth] baby; aunt Théophilie Warburg and Mrs. Rosenberg [Marc Rosenberg's mother] were there as well and were planning to go to Ems together; Charlotte Warburg met her husband in Frankfurt and together they travelled to Homburg; Moritz Warburg has, in the meantime, returned to Hamburg; Charlotte Warburg has visited [her brother and his wife, Warburg's] uncle Moritz Nathan Oppenheim and aunt Kätie [Katharina Oppenheim], where she met up with her son Felix Warburg; she will return to Homburg, her address there is Untere Promenade, c/o Escribens; she spoke with Dr.Porten [Max von der Porten?] in Frankfurt who advised her not to return to the house in Mittelweg as long as the builders are still there; mentions aunt Mali [Amalie Goldschmidt] who will travel to Heringsdorf to meet up with the Schiffs; replies to his letter; if Warburg's father spends the Jewish holidays 05-06/09/1888 in Ostend, then Warburg will be with him; if the father wants to spend the holidays in Hamburg, then Warburg will have to accompany him; she is troubled by his wish not to celebrate the religious ceremonies with his father; his father has not accepted the fact that what is important to him is not important to his sons; father has already conceded so much to Warburg that it would only be filial piety to obey the father; what Warburg terms 'unprincipled', to make a show of his piety, is for her something which is 'full of character'; she thinks he would profit from going to a sea bath like Ostend; uncle Moritz [Moritz Nathan Oppenheim] will go to Heligoland, this might be an opportunity for Warburg as well, to join him after Yom Kippur; asks him to reply to her in Homburg |
